Gynecological surgery

Depending on the type and severity of your condition, we offer both in-office and hospital-based procedures for a variety of gynecological concerns.

In-office procedures

If you're experiencing heavy menstrual periods, uterine ablation is a minimally invasive procedure to minimize bleeding. Unlike a hysterectomy, a uterine ablation doesn't require incision, and keeps the uterus in tact. Heat is applied to treat the uterus lining, and it is generally a swift procedure. Most women can resume their regular routine the very next day. It is not safe to ever become pregnant after this procedure, so the treatment option is reserved for women who are willing to use continuous or permanent birth control.

Implantable contraceptives are also available as an extended birth control option. They are placed under the skin of the upper arm, and work as a birth control by stopping the release of the egg from the ovary, as well as the sperm from reaching the egg. This option can last up to three years, and can be removed at any time if you choose to become pregnant.

Hospital-based procedures

Certain procedures need to be performed at our affiliated hospitals. Examples of procedure include:

  • Abdominal hysterectomy
  • Diagnostic laparoscopy
  • Dilation and curettage
  • Hysteroscopy (in-office procedure option)
  • Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy
  • Laparoscopic tubal ligation
  • Ovarian cyst treatment/removal
  • Minimally invasive surgery
  • Uterine ablation (in-office procedure option)
  • Vaginal hysterectomy
