Gynecological surgery
We have a wide range of in-office and hospital-based procedures for your various gynecological concerns.
In-office procedures
One of the most common in-office procedures we offer is uterine ablation, a minimally invasive procedure that helps with heavy menstrual periods. Unlike a hysterectomy, it preserves the uterus and does not require any incisions. The procedure involves applying heat to treat the uterus lining. It's done quickly, and you can likely return to your regular routine the next day. However, it is not safe to ever become pregnant after the procedure, so it is reserved for women who are willing to use continuous or permanent birth control.
For women looking for an extended birth control option, we also offer implantable contraceptives. These are placed under the skin of the upper arm, and work to stop the release of the egg from the ovary, as well as the sperm from reaching the egg. This option can last up to three years, and can be removed at any time if you decide to become pregnant.
Hospital-based procedures
Our physicians may need to perform certain procedures at our affiliated hospitals. These procedures may include:
- Abdominal hysterectomy
- Diagnostic laparoscopy
- Dilation and curettage
- Hysteroscopy
- Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy
- Laparoscopic tubal ligation
- Ovarian cyst treatment/removal
- Minimally invasive surgery
- Uterine ablation
- Vaginal hysterectomy
